Caroline E. Roberts, a 44-year Ventura County resident, died Thursday at Ventura County Medical Center following a long illness. She was 62.

Roberts was born on Oct. 20, 1934, in Honolulu. She moved to Ventura County in 1952 and had been married to Bobby Roberts ever since.

“She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother,” he said. “She was very caring to everybody.”

Roberts spent much of her life caring for family.

“She devoted everything to us,” said her daughter Carol of Pismo Beach. “She was one of those moms who made breakfast for us. She was home for lunch, because we came home for lunch. We lived across the street from [elementary] school. She shopped for everybody. I think her biggest fault is that she loved us too much. That’s not a bad fault.”

Roberts was also an avid bowler and enjoyed making ceramics and afghans, many of which she gave away to family and friends.

Besides her husband and daughter, Roberts is survived by son Glen and his wife Sheryl of Arroyo Grande; brother Bobby Sanford of Ventura; and grandchildren Scott and Amber of Arroyo Grande.
