Medical Center Plans CPR, Diabetes Classes

From first aid and diabetes to doing aerobics in a chair, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center will offer several educational programs in the coming weeks.

Classes include:

* Dealing with Diabetes. Lectures by an endocrinologist, nurse, dietitian and physical therapist. Maintaining control of blood sugar levels and other topics will be covered. The class is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Cost: Free. Information: (714) 966-7222.

* Chair aerobics hosted by a fitness instructor. The focus is on learning to exercise while sitting down.The class meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 10.

* Heartsaver, a four-hour program following American Heart Assn. standards for CPR that uses lectures and demonstrations to show students how to resuscitate victims of heart attacks and choking.

The class will meet Sept. 19 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Education Trailer, Room A. Cost: $15. Reservations are mandatory.
