Forerunner of B-2 Bomber to Highlight Air Show

The Hawthorne Municipal Airport this weekend will resemble a scene from World War II.

The city is holding its annual Air Faire on Saturday and Sunday, with more than 70 aircraft and restored World War II planes on display.

Of particular interest is the N-9M, a prototype of the Northrop Flying Wing, which is being flown in from the Chino Air Museum. Developed in Hawthorne during World War II, it is the grandfather of the B-2 bomber.

In addition to planes, the show will include demonstrations by the U.S. Air Force STARS Jump Team on both days.
