Golf Course Will Be Brought Back Up to Par

Golfers will be pleased to learn that the missing three holes at the Westchester Golf Course, owned by Los Angeles International Airport, may soon return.

The city’s Board of Airport Commissioners voted this week to solicit bids to reconstruct the public golf course, opened more than 30 years ago, that has had only 15 holes since the Westchester Parkway was built in the early 1990s. The four-lane parkway connects Pershing Drive and Sepulveda Westway.

The developer will have to make at least $5 million in leasehold improvements, reconfiguring the 77-acre course, building a double-deck driving range and constructing a clubhouse. At least nine holes will remain open during the project.
