Deputies Making Transient Sweep Find Body of Man
The body of a 68-year-old man was found Wednesday near Malibu Creek by sheriff’s deputies conducting a “transient sweep,” authorities said.
The Sheriff’s Department had received numerous complaints of homeless people sleeping in the 3800 block of Cross Creek Road and was clearing out the area at 5:45 a.m. when deputies found the body, Deputy Henry Garza said.
“In an effort to rouse the victim, they were unable to,” Garza said, adding that the man was believed to be a transient who died of natural causes.
The victim’s identity was not released pending notification of relatives. An autopsy will be performed today.
