Kings at a Loss to Explain Offense

The Kings’ offense continued to struggle in a 7-2 loss at Toronto on Saturday. In losing all three games of the trip, the Kings managed only four goals combined. They scored four in their last victory, 4-1, against New Jersey on Nov. 29.

“It’s hard to explain, sometimes you get the bounces and sometimes you don’t,” left wing Craig Johnson said. “You have to work and get yourself in position to get those bounces. I don’t think that our team over the last three games has been moving their feet to get to those spots to create those chances. That’s the biggest difference.”

Last season, the Kings had eight losing streaks of at least three games. This is their first three-game slide this season.

“Every team has these lulls when you’re not playing well and this is where it’s going to be a challenge for us,” Johnson said. “This is where we have to stick together more than ever to help turn it around. There’s a ton of hockey still yet to be played this season.”
