In anchoring a Mater Dei defense that recorded five shutouts in 10 regular-season games, Mitchell helped with 89 unassisted tackles (17 for a loss), caused five fumbles and recovered one. “The best linebacker I’ve ever coached,” Mater Dei’s Bruce Rollinson said.
