100 Black Men Gala to Support Youth Program

Rep. Loretta Sanchez, motivational speaker Anthony J. Robbins and Kip Konwiser, who produced the movie “Miss Evers’ Boys” will be recognized by the 100 Black Men of Orange County at the group’s third annual Black and White Ball on Thursday.

Funds for the dinner will go to support the group’s youth program, Passport to the Future, which enrolls about 50 high school students in Saturday morning instruction and provides scholarships for those who successfully finish four years.

Others who will be recognized at the dinner include Milton Gordon, Cal State Fullerton president; Wayne Snyder, organizer of the annual Black History Parade in Orange County; The Links Inc., Orange County chapter and its president Marne A. Glass for scholarships, and Long Beach high school teacher Erin Gruwell.
