H.R. Haldeman, former chief of staff to President Richard M. Nixon, is freed on a six-day holiday furlough from the minimum-security federal prison at Lompoc, where he is serving one to four years for his Watergate crimes. Haldeman and his wife will spend the holidays in Los Angeles.
