Nagel to Lead Board of College Trustees
Norman Nagel has been named president of the Ventura County Community College District Board of Trustees.
The Westlake Village resident has been a member of the board since 1994 and served this last year as vice president.
Nagel replaced John Tallman with the 5-0 board vote earlier this week.
In his new post, Nagel will be an advocate for the county’s community colleges and preside over all trustee meetings.
Simi Valley resident Allan Jacobs will serve as vice president of the board.
Nagel, an orthodontist, was instrumental in developing the dental hygiene program at Oxnard College.
He is active in the Conejo Valley and Simi Valley chambers of commerce, the Conejo Future Foundation, the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, YMCA and Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He also serves in the California National Guard and is a member of the academic staff at the UCLA School of Dentistry.
