Injury Slows Defenseman Blake
The Kings’ 1-0 victory at Chicago on Monday is even more impressive considering that they had to play most of the second period and all of the third without defenseman Rob Blake, who suffered a minor buttocks injury early in the game.
Blake, who had scored power-play goals in each of his previous two games, made three solid hits in the first period but cramped up as the game went on

Update--In a matchup of the top two teams in the Pacific Division, the Kings will be looking for their second win against the Avalanche. Stephane Fiset made 37 saves and Vladimir Tsyplakov and Luc Robitaille scored to give the Kings a 2-1 overtime win at Denver last month. Colorado goaltender Patrick Roy was injured and did not play but is expected to tonight.
