Re “Commuting By Train,” Letters to the Valley Edition, Dec. 14.
I, like Richard Mallyon, find it necessary to travel to Long Beach from time to time. Unlike Mallyon, I find the trip quite enjoyable and very relaxing. I catch Metrolink at Van Nuys and make the same trip he does. Transferring from Metrolink to the Red Line and the Blue Line is no big thing. Also, being a senior citizen, I pay only $4 for a round-trip ticket (even full fare, $8, it is still a bargain).
Metrolink, Red Line and Blue Line should be the choice for everyone who can fit it into their schedule.
Increased ridership should mean that schedules will become more frequent.
