Willie Brown to Deliver Speech for Millennium Forum
San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown will speak about the role of government in 2001 at a city-sponsored event scheduled for Monday.
After Brown’s presentation--part of the Millennium Forum series--the public will be encouraged to share their hopes for and concerns about the millennium, said Donna Reyes, public information specialist for the city of Beverly Hills.
The city will compile videotapes of the Millennium Forum series and documents submitted by residents to create a collection of residents’ and civic leaders’ ideas about the next millennium. Reyes compared the project to creating a time capsule for future generations to study.
Brown’s appearance is the fourth in the Millennium Forum series, which began in April. Past events have addresses music, art and religion, Reyes said.
The free event will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Frances S. Scott Auditorium at El Rodeo school, 605 Whittier Drive, Beverly Hills.
