Heavy rains that pelted the banks of the San Juan Creek channel on Dec. 6 required the city to move the Descanso pedestrian bridge several feet and prompted repairs to the Krum reservoir water line.

Total cost of repairing the damage was $300,000.

On Tuesday, the City Council plans to adopt a resolution for reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state Office of Emergency Services.

The council also will hold a public hearing on whether to establish no parking tow-away zones in the Mesa Meadows neighborhood.

The Public Works Department requested that the following streets be designated no parking zones from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Mondays or Tuesdays of each month: Calle Lucana, Calle Winona, Paseo Rosa, Calle Delphina, Calle Reynalda and Via Belardes.

The parking restrictions are needed to allow the city’s street sweeper to clean up debris that accumulates at curb sides.

The council meeting will be at 7 p.m. at 32400 Paseo Adelanto. Information: (714) 493-1171.
