Jason Bentley, the KCRW and KROQ deejay and electronic dance music proponent, is leaving Quango Records, the label he co-founded within the Island Records family, to take an A&R; post at Maverick Records. . . .Meanwhile, KCRW music director Chris Douridas has scored a coup in his role as a DreamWorks Records A&R; figure, signing the coveted British electronic dance act Propellerheads. . . .
With two new live albums just out from the Grateful Dead’s archives (“Dick’s Picks Vol. 7” and “Fallout From the Phil Zone”), a concert video is being finished for fall release. Titled “Downhill From Here,” the tape documents a 1989 show at Alpine Valley, Wis.
