Girl, 16, Missing, Believed Kidnapped at Orange Firm
ORANGE — Police are searching for a teenage girl who investigators believe was abducted Friday by a 22-year-old ex-boyfriend, who also was a co-worker at a golf manufacturing company here.
Josefina Camona Gonzales, 16, was working at American Graphite Technology Inc. when about 12:30 p.m., co-worker Elias Valdovinos apparently put a gun to her head and forced her out of the building, Orange Lt. Ed Tunstall said.
Several co-workers who witnessed the suspected kidnapping told officials that the two had dated for a while. But Gonzales apparently told Valdovinos that she no longer wanted to see him, police said. Valdovinos also apparently told a friend that he was going to kidnap Gonzales, Tunstall added.
On Friday, Valdovinos allegedly forced the girl into his car at gunpoint and fled, authorities said. His car was later found empty in Anaheim near North State College Boulevard and East La Palma Avenue.
Neither the suspect nor the victim has been located. Police believe that Valdovinos has family in Anaheim, Oregon and Mexico. Gonzales is described as Latina, 5-foot-4, weighing about 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Valdovinos is also a Latino, and also about 5-foot-4, 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Police ask that anyone with information contact Det. Matt Miller at (714) 744-7444.
