Valley Graduates Bryant, Fullmer Making Noise

The Trenton Thunder beat the Harrisburg Senators, 13-8, Monday night and two players from the Valley provided most of the fireworks in the double-A Eastern League game at Harrisburg, Pa. Right fielder Pat Bryant, from Cleveland High, had four hits, including his 18th home run for Trenton. First baseman Brad Fullmer, from Montclair Prep, had three hits, including his 18th and 19th home runs, and drove in six runs for Harrisburg.

Before Tuesday, Fullmer was batting .311 with 24 doubles and 62 runs batted in. He had struck out only 25 times in 357 at-bats. Bryant was batting .287 with 17 doubles and 71 RBIs.

When Del Crandall resigned as manager last week to become a roving catching instructor, San Bernardino promoted hitting coach Dino Ebel to manager and hired former Dodger Tim Wallach as hitting coach.

Bakersfield outfielder Mike Glendenning (Pierce) received California League Batter of the Week honors after hitting four home runs with 12 RBIs from July 20-26. Glendenning batted .320 during the week.
