Fargas Has Career Night in Notre Dame Romp
Justin Fargas rushed for a career-high 392 yards in 24 carries and scored six touchdowns to power Notre Dame High past Bishop Montgomery, 51-28, in a Mission League football game Friday night in Torrance.
Fargas ran for touchdowns of 68 and 65 yards on Notre Dame’s first two plays from scrimmage. He also scored on runs of one, one, two and 55 yards.
Fargas has rushed for 1,771 yards and 22 touchdowns in 177 carries for a 10-yard average this season.
It was the 14th time Fargas has rushed for more than 200 yards in a game and eclipsed his previous best of 329 yards against Harvard-Westlake last season.
Notre Dame’s Dave DeMartinis completed nine of 11 passes for 120 yards and one touchdown--a 27-yard completion to Matt Boyd.
Notre Dame (6-2, 2-1 in league play) built a 37-14 halftime lead and increased it to 44-14 early in the third quarter.
Travis Johnson sacked Bishop Montgomery’s John Sarmiento three times.
Rashad Peters rushed for 186 yards in four carries for Bishop Montgomery (0-8, 0-3), including a 96-yard touchdown.
