In the Olympic League:
Brethren Christian 17, Whittier Christian 8--Brethren Christian’s A.J. Castillo carried the ball 32 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns as the Warriors got their first league victory.
Whittier Christian (4-4, 0-3) opened the scoring with a six-play drive to take an 8-0 lead when quarterback Matt Thomson passed 45 yards to Jason Carpenter for a touchdown.
The Warriors (3-5, 1-2) returned the favor immediately after Brian Pappagalo returned the Heralds’ kickoff 73 yards to the Whittier Christian 17. Castillo scored four plays later to cut the lead to 8-7. He scored his second touchdown of the evening from 10 yards just before the close of the first quarter to put Brethren Christian ahead, 14-8.
Keith Witt kicked a 40-yard field goal in the second quarter.
