In the Orange Empire Conference men’s water polo tournament:

Saddleback 7, Orange Coast 6 (OT)--Chris Carnahan scored with 16 seconds left in overtime as second-seeded Saddleback upset top-seeded Orange Coast in the championship game. The Pirates were unable to get another scoring attempt before time expired.

Orange Coast’s Jake French then tied the score, 6-6, with 2:08 left in overtime.

In other Orange Empire Conference tournament matches:

Grossmont 4, Cypress 3--Josh Konold scored off a pass from Eric Stadther with 56 seconds left to play to lift Grossmont to victory in the fifth-place game. Justin McLaughlin had two goals for Cypress.

Palomar 8, Santa Ana 7--Cory Hoggatt had four goals in a consolation victory for Palomar. Sidney Sonnier scored four goals for Santa Ana.

In the Orange Empire Conference women’s water polo tournament:

Grossmont 5, Saddleback 4--Grossmont’s Joanne Henry scored the winning goal, her third goal of the match, with just under two minutes left to play to lead Grossmont to the championship victory.

Saddleback (10-11-1) came into the tournament unseeded and took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Grossmont was able to rally and tied the score, 4-4, in the third quarter.

In other Orange Empire Conference tournament matches:

Orange Coast 8, Riverside 3--Morgan Meyer scored three goals as Orange Coast defeated Riverside to win third place. The Pirates led at halftime, 6-1.

Leslie Weiser scored two goals for Riverside.

In the South Coast Conference women’s water polo tournament:

Golden West 19, Long Beach 4--April Kidd scored four goals as Golden West won the South Coast League title. Teammates Nadine Akers and Lisa Saenz each scored three goals for the Rustlers.

Golden West is 31-0.
