Coronado Gears Up for Classic Car Race
Classic car racing will come to Coronado, Calif., Nov. 22 and 23, when about 150 racers are expected to compete in the first Chrysler Classic Speed Festival. The cars will race on a 1.5-mile course at the Naval Air Station, North Island.
On Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can view the cars, which date back to 1924, for free on Isabella Avenue near Orange Avenue. Admission to the races (9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) are $10 per day, $15 for both days; free for children under 12. For advance tickets and information, call (619) 283-5808.
