Senior Housing Unit on Council Docket
The City Council tonight will consider plans for a 105-unit apartment building for senior citizens on North Brea Boulevard near Central Avenue.
USA Properties Fund of Roseville has proposed a three-story complex of one- and two-bedroom units.
The project would help the city meet affordable housing requirements, as 20% of the units would be designated for very-low income tenants and 10% for low-income residents.
In addition, the plan calls for shuttle service, meal coordination, counseling programs and a $20,000 payment by USA Properties to the city for other community senior facilities.
The site, 2.6 acres at 855 N. Brea Blvd., is vacant.
A similar project for senior housing at the site was approved by the council in 1994 but was never built.
The council will meet at 7 tonight at 1 Civic Center Circle. Information: (714) 990-7600.
