Gish Biomedical Inc.: The Irvine maker of disposable medical devices posted a 47% gain in net income for the first fiscal quarter, while sales were flat. Net income rose to $90,500, or 3 cents a share, from $61,500, or 2 cents a share, a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 totaled $5.3 million, virtually unchanged from a year ago.
