Golden West Honors 5 Successful Alumni

Five alumni of Golden West College recently received Outstanding Alumni Pillar Achievement awards for success in their careers.

The honorees: Glenda Blackburn, a 1975 graduate who retired last year after serving seven years as the executive director of the college’s foundation; Rene McClane, a 1979 graduate who owns a salon and spa; John Sanger, a 1971 graduate who has written three books and won three American Business Press awards; Dr. Matthew Susanka, a 1977 graduate who practices obstetrics and gynecology in Brea; and Emilee Young, a 1983 graduate who is the executive director of National Workers’ Compensation Case Management Services for Intracorp/Cigna.

The awards were begun in 1991 to recognize successful former students. The college has given 35 Outstanding Alumni awards, including the latest inductees.
