City Councilwoman Collene Campbell said she’s optimistic an upcoming episode of “America’s Most Wanted” will help investigators find who killed her brother, 59-year-old racing pioneer Mickey Thompson.

Campbell, who made the announcement at recent City Council meeting, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators found some good leads recently that may help solve the 9-year-old crime. Thompson and his wife, Trudy, 42, were gunned down at their home in Bradbury, in the San Gabriel Valley.

The story previously aired on “Unsolved Mysteries” shortly after the murder, she said. “My family put up a $250,000 reward for someone to come forward with information,” Campbell said. “I keep the promise I made to my brother on his grave to never stop until it is solved.”

Although Fox Channel 11 has tentatively scheduled the program to air at 7 p.m. Saturday, the episode could also air the same time Dec. 6, Campbell said.
