Louanne Shahandeh has been named Residential Treatment Center director for Casa Pacifica, a home for abused and neglected children in Camarillo. She has 18 years’ experience with programs involved with caring for children with severe emotional needs.
Before coming to Casa Pacifica, Shahandeh was managing director of the Phoenix House in Sylmar.
* Jo Ann Poole, a residential real estate saleswoman with Century 21 LaCarre in Simi Valley, has been certified as a residential marketing specialist, with emphasis on relocating buyers and sellers.
To receive the certification, Poole underwent specialized training, learned strategies for developing successful home marketing assistance plans and passed a certification exam.

Buena Center Business and Professional Women honored five women to celebrate National Business Women’s Week. They were:
* Mary E. Carr of Oxnard, executive director of the Ventura County Medical Society, recognized for her work with nonprofit organizations.
* RoseMarie Fanucchi of Carpinteria, publisher and editor of the Coastal View Newspaper in Carpinteria, was given the media award.
* Evelyn S. Burge of Ventura, a nurse, was honored for her work in public health.
* Suzanne Chadwick of Oxnard, regional vice president for the Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura branches of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, was honored in the area of finance.
* Betty Bow Withers of Ventura, a retired special education teacher with the Santa Paula Elementary School District, was recognized for her work in education.
