Man Gets New Look at Long-Lost Medals
The medals honoring Victor Arzate’s World War II sacrifice, casually lost during children’s playtime about 30 years ago, were returned to the Santa Ana man in a ceremony Monday.

When the two sons were stalled by federal bureaucracy, they turned to Sanchez’s office. The office recently was able to retain replacements for the four medals, which included one for good conduct, and presented them to Arzate in Santa Ana, where the retired jet fuel operator, 73, grew up and still lives.
