I-5 Chapman Offramp to Be Closed 2 Months
The Santa Ana Freeway eventually will be wider and faster, but in the meantime, northbound commuters to Orange will run into a detour.
The Chapman Avenue exit is scheduled to close about 5 a.m. today and will be out of use for two months due to the $1.1-billion construction project.
Caltrans officials have plotted a detour: transition to the westbound Garden Grove Freeway, take The City Drive exit and head north to Chapman Avenue.
Beginning Wednesday, motorists can learn about the project by viewing interactive videos at the Crystal Cathedral, 12141 Lewis St., Garden Grove, and at Buena Park’s Sequoia Athletic Club and Conference Center, at Beach Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue.
