A mother of three kidnapped at gunpoint in Huntington Park in front of her screaming daughter was found safe at the Mexican border, along with her suspected abductors, police said Thursday.
Rosalinda Jedlick, 40, was kidnapped about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 2700 block of Saturn Avenue and taken away in her own vehicle, said Huntington Park Police Sgt. D.J. Fitzgerald.
Police named the woman’s “would-be” boyfriend, Juan Machado, 22, as a suspect, and Juan Carlos Hernandez, who is a minor, as his accomplice.
The victim and the suspects were detained by U.S. Customs Service agents at the Mexican border Wednesday about 5:30 p.m., said Huntington Park Det. John Navarrette.
Machado was taken to Huntington Park jail and was booked on charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and carjacking, police said. The district attorney’s office is expected to decide today whether to file charges, Navarrette said. Hernandez was booked on the same charges at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, investigators said.
