Suspects Still Sought in Drive-By Shooting
Simi Valley police are continuing their search for suspects in a drive-by shooting Friday that injured one man, authorities said.
According to police, 19-year-old Daniel Pratt of Las Vegas and 17-year-old Gabriel Reyes of Simi Valley were walking down 4th Street near the Los Angeles Avenue intersection about 9:15 p.m. when they exchanged words with four or five people riding in a black Toyota or Nissan sedan.
The vehicle continued a short distance before one passenger leaned out the window and fired several shots, police said. The suspects then fled.
Pratt, a former resident of the city, was struck once in the lower abdomen. He was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Reyes was unhurt.
Investigators do not know what prompted the attack, but said it might be gang-related.
