The story of a 1964 rock band’s climb to the pinnacle of teen mania is so thoroughly Hanks’ project that he cast a look-alike, Tom Everett Scott, pictured with Liv Tyler, in the leading role (HBO Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.).
