Village Christian 28, Flintridge Prep 21--Running back David Romberger scored on a one-yard run with 33 seconds left to push the Crusaders (4-1) past the Rebels (2-3) in a nonleague game at Kennedy High.
Romberger finished with 43 carries for 235 yards and four touchdowns. He scored on runs of five, five, one and 12 yards.
Village Christian trailed, 21-7, at halftime, but intercepted two Flintridge Prep passes in the third quarter and Romberger converted both into touchdown runs for a 21-21 tie.
Rebel quarterback J.P. Blecksmith rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another. He connected with Evan Cablayan for a 50-yard touchdown late in the second quarter. He earlier scored on runs of five and 10 yards.
