Concert to Showcase 9 Violin Students
A concert to showcase nine area musicians and demonstrate the versatility of the violin will be held in the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery on Sunday afternoon.
The musicians, students of violin teacher and fiddle champion Phil Salazar, will perform pieces that range from traditional American, jazz, swing, bluegrass and classical.
Selections include “Ragtime Annie,” “Kansas City Kitty,” “Carolan’s Concerto,” “Turkey Knob” and “The Infant Paganini.”
The free 2 p.m. recital, presented by the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley, is part of the group’s Showcase Concert series. A reception will follow the event at the gallery, Borchard Road at Michael Drive in Newbury Park.
