My Favorite Weekend
Comedian Pauly Shore, host of “Friday the 31st Part One: The Halloween Ball Edition” at the Comedy Store, Oct. 31.
In the Neighborhood: Friday nights after I finish my set at the Comedy Store, I usually will go down to Billboard Live because it’s so close. On weekends, there are so many people out that I don’t like to go below Sunset. I live in the hills and I like to stay close to my home base.
A Wallflower: I don’t like to do much dancing at Billboard Live. I usually just sit in a corner and relax. Sometimes people will come up to me, but usually I like to be private. I’ll order some nachos and a drink. The nachos are excellent; they have really tall chips--it’s like a tepee of chips.
A Homebody: I just redid my house. If you had asked me five years ago what I like to do on the weekend, I probably would have had an itinerary of hot places, but now I have SurroundSound in my bedroom and I watch a lot of videos. I read, I walk around and adjust my paintings, I swim in my pool.
A Fish Head: I have been going to Sushi on Sunset ever since I was 16. I go less for the sushi and more for the convenience.
Alter Ego: One Halloween I dressed up as a girl. It was when U2 was playing at Dodger Stadium. I was backstage dressed as a groupie, but I was the only person in costume. I thought since it was Halloween and U2 was playing Dodger Stadium, everyone would be dressed up. It was embarrassing.
