Candidates Forum Scheduled Tonight
The Westside Community Council is sponsoring a City Council candidates forum tonight at the Avenue Adult Center.
Traditionally, the Ventura Avenue area has had the lowest voter registration and turnout in the city.
But the community council is encouraging participation in the election process by holding a forum and encouraging residents to go to the polls Nov. 4.
Ten candidates are vying for four open seats on the seven-member City Council this year. Many have named continued revitalization of the Avenue area as a campaign goal.
Tonight’s forum, which is free and open to the public, starts at 6:30 p.m. and is expected to last two hours.
