Perry Fills Void and Royal Wins

David Radka was not missed Wednesday by Royal High when he fouled out after scoring only one goal.
Jason Perry picked up the slack for the All-American by scoring five goals for the Highlanders in an 11-6 victory over Agoura in a Marmonte League water polo game at Agoura.
All-Southern Section goalie Garrett Herzer had 13 saves for the Highlanders (17-3, 4-0 in league play). Mitch Dexter scored three goals for Agoura (15-5, 3-1).
Bell Gardens 18, Burroughs 12--Loran Leidinger had four goals and Nick Triandos made seven saves for the Indians (12-6, 1-1) in an Almont League game at Bell Gardens (19-3, 3-0).
Notre Dame 10, Alemany 6--Jon Horwitz scored three goals for the Knights (16-4, 1-1) in a Mission League game at Alemany.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Granada Hills d. Cleveland, 15-3, 15-6, 15-12--Gina Karabogias had 28 assists and six aces for the Highlanders (9-1, 7-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference match.
Kennedy d. Taft, 15-5, 15-3, 15-7--Dasha Bautzka had seven kills and Holly Kuhn had 10 assists for the Golden Cougars (4-6, 3-4) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Kennedy.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Birmingham 24, Taft 31--Sophomore Mateo Gonzalez clocked 16:40 for the Braves (11-0, 2-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference meet on the three-mile course at Pierce College.
Westlake 24, Channel Islands 31--Luke McCarthy won a Marmonte League meet in 16:53 for the Warriors (5-2) at Westlake.
Camarillo 25, Simi Valley 31; Camarillo 19, Newbury Park 39; Simi Valley 25, Newbury Park 31--Ryan Meuse of the Pioneers (3-4, 3-4) won by 14 seconds in 16:49 on the three-mile course at Corriganville Park, but the Scorpions had too much depth in a Marmonte League meet.
GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
Birmingham 19, Taft 36--Tiffany Burgess, City Section 1,600-meter champion, clocked 19:13 for the Braves (11-0, 2-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference meet on the three-mile course at Pierce.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Camarillo 10, Agoura 8--Alison Gottlieb and Michelle Alvarez won three sets at No. 1 doubles for the Scorpions (12-2, 9-1) in a Marmonte League match at Camarillo.
Harvard-Westlake 17, Westlake 1--Marissa Irvin, the Wolverines’ No. 1 singles player, swept three sets at Studio City Golf and Tennis.
