CorVel Corp.: The Irvine provider of managed care services reported record net income of $2.4 million, or 55 cents a share for the second fiscal quarter, 14% higher than the $2.1 million, or 44 cents a share, for the corresponding period last year. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 grew 17% to $34.7 million from $29.7 million.

For the first six months of the fiscal year, net income increased 15% to $4.7 million, or $1.07 a share, from $4.1 million, or 87 cents a share, for the first half of the prior year. Revenue showed a gain of 15% to $68.7 million from $59.6 million.
