TECHHEAD
Having followed us home from the office, computers are developing multiple personalities. Now they’re stepping into the kitchen.
Ready or not, here comes the Kitchen Assistant--the first digital cookbook. It’s a compact (6 inches tall and 2 pounds) counter-top computer that allows cooks to collect, organize and access recipes instantly. It comes loaded with popular recipes complete with nutritional analysis. A “Reverse Recipe” feature produces recipes for whatever food is on hand.
Created by Design Edge of Austin, Texas, for Brother International, the kitchen computer appeared on the market last winter.
Kitchen Assistant (retail price: $299) is available at Bloomingdale’s and Spiegel and other catalog companies, with a major distribution push planned for early 1998. Toll-free information: (888) 773-9585.
