The question Oct. 12: Director Roman Polanski may be negotiating with prosecutors and the courts to return to the United States after fleeing in 1978 to avoid sentencing for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. Should he be allowed back in the country without facing further punishment?

What good will Polanski’s going to jail accomplish? Rehabilitation? Punishment? His exile and time served are punishment enough. Let him return and make films here.

Of course Roman should be allowed back into the United States without facing punishment.

Roman Polanski definitely paid. He lost his wife in one of the most brutal murders of the century.
Let him come back. Enough is enough.
