Speech Therapy Program Changes
* Re “Parents Protest Changes in Speech Therapy Class,” Oct. 13.
[Judy] Bossier’s comment to The Times that the number of students per class will not make a difference in the quality of instruction makes no sense. . . . Her lack of common sense would be amusing were it not for the adverse effect her decisions have on our children, their abilities to communicate and socialize and their future academic progress.
I implore the district to listen to the teachers and parents who cumulatively have thousands of hours in this program, current supportive research, and documented success before carrying through with a decision made by an out-of-touch administrator whose own statements should disqualify her from making such far-reaching decisions.
Please consider the children for a change, and don’t devastate this highly successful program.
