Flood Control
* Re “Dispute Delays Clearing of Channels,” Oct. 22.
Flood control channels choked with vegetation and debris are profoundly dangerous, not only to residents and businesses nearby, but to potential victims and swift-water rescue team members who will be asked to operate in this extremely hazardous environment. This is not an environmental issue. It is a safety issue. Like fire safety, flood safety must overrule all other political interests and agendas. Time is running out.
