Community Spirit Event Is Planned
In an effort to promote community involvement and harmony, a Day of Dialogue will take place Nov. 5 at three local churches.
Organizers say they hope the event--the first of its kind in city history--will give neighbors the chance to get to know and understand one another and build a sense of community. While the forums will be held at churches, the sessions are not religion-based.
“This is about people connecting with other people,” Jimmy Gaston, one of the organizers, said.
The locations and times are: St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 311 W. South St., 10 a.m. to noon and 5 to 7 p.m.; Grace Lutheran Church, 700 W. South St., 5 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.; and Anaheim First Presbyterian Church, 310 W. Broadway, 5 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Information and reservations: (714) 765-4485.
Sponsors of the event are the Anaheim Religious Community Council and the city’s Neighborhood Services Department.
