Costa Mesa Woman Robbed of Cash, Car; Man Being Sought
COSTA MESA — Police are looking for a man who sneaked into a house Wednesday morning, robbed a woman of $46 at knifepoint and stole her black Ford Explorer.
Kimberly Ann Noon, 37, walked into her living room with an armful of laundry about 8:30 a.m. and was confronted by a man holding a butcher knife, police said.
The man demanded the keys to Noon’s car, which was parked outside in the 1500 block of Baker Street, and money from her purse, and Noon quickly gave him both, police said.
The Explorer was found a short time later about a mile away on Harbor Boulevard, in the parking lot of a McDonald’s, Lt. Ron Smith said.
The man is described as Latino, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, thin, 25 to 30 years old, with a half-inch circular mole on his right cheek and discolored, crooked teeth. He wore a blue T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Det. Tim Schennum at (714) 754-5120.
