Calabasas Girls Still Unbeaten
The Calabasas High girls’ tennis team defeated Thousand Oaks, 10-8, on Tuesday at Northridge Tennis Center for its fourth consecutive victory.
Freshman Andrea Leewong and sophomore Brittany Bierman, who are 12-0 this season, recorded the decisive point by defeating the Lancer doubles team of Summer Valdes and Amy Biersch, 6-3.
Sharvina Saedinia (12-0) won three singles matches for Calabasas (4-0), and Kathy Habuki and Frayla Schoenfeld (11-1) swept three doubles sets.
Campbell Hall 16, Flintridge Sacred Heart 2--Faith Scher and Maya Shammas lost two games in three doubles sets for the Vikings (3-0) at Studio City Racquet Centre.
Hart 11, Buena 7--Jamie Ladd and Megan Cholakian, and Catherine Pucci-Nancy Hwang swept three doubles sets for the Indians (2-0) at Buena.
Harvard-Westlake 10, Palisades 8--Marissa Irvin swept at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-3, 6-4, for the Wolverines (1-1) against the defending City Section 4-A champions at Studio City Golf and Tennis.
Agoura 15, Dos Pueblos 3--Freshman Brooke Borisoff swept at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, for the Chargers (2-0) at Dos Pueblos (0-1).
The team of Lauren Hahn and Casy Ruby swept at No. 1 doubles for Agoura, 7-6 (7-4), 6-0, 6-0.
BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
Harvard-Westlake 24, Brentwood 33, Windward 80--Robert Eckhardt and Josh Sohn finished one-two for the Wolverines (2-0) at Brentwood. Eckhardt toured the three-mile course in 18:28, and Sohn finished one second back.
Flintridge Prep 22, Village Christian 39--Doug Hall showed the form that took him to a fifth-place finish in last year’s state Division V race for the Tologs (1-0) with a 19:35 clocking over a hilly three-mile course at Village Christian (0-1).
Junior Jeff Largent placed second for the Crusaders in 20:38.
GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
Flintridge Prep 15, Village Christian 49--Wendy Cumrine clocked 26:44 and the Tologs (1-0) took the top five places at Village Christian (1-0).
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Crescenta Valley 14, Burroughs 9--Brian Hasbrouck had 12 saves for the Falcons (4-1) at Crescenta Valley.
Donald Carpenter had five goals for the Falcons and Brian Carsten had three for Burroughs (2-3).
Ventura 12, Nordhoff 8--Chad Caldwell scored seven goals for the Cougars at Ventura.
Justin Jewell had four goals for the Rangers (2-1).
