TAKING A STAND

It was with extreme sadness, and a certain amount of outrage, that I read the “Feiffer” panel last Sunday. In the cartoon, the author raises the avoidance of commitment to a preferred and desirable place instead of using the opportunity to steer our young people in the opposite direction.

Today’s young people should be urged and led toward the positive aspects of commitment, not the reverse. I certainly hope the life of the cartoonist (with the illegible signature) never has to depend on the actions of the character in this strip. God help us, someday the real-life version of this character will have the power to vote.

Will he?
