San Diego Francis Parker 30, St. Margaret’s 6--Gary Johnson rushed for 264 yards and scored three touchdowns in Francis Parker’s victory in a nonleague game at Capistrano Valley High.

Johnson scored on a 32-yard run late in the first quarter to give the Lancers (2-0) a 7-0 lead.

However, on St. Margaret’s first play of the second quarter, Jimmy Freeman caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dylan Gilbert. The extra point was missed and Francis Parker led, 7-6.

The Lancers added to their lead two minutes later when Polo Rodriguez found Johnson with a 27-yard touchdown pass.

On the next possession, Grant Bostrom intercepted Gilbert’s pass, giving Francis Parker (0-2) the ball on the St. Margaret’s 35. It was the first of six interceptions thrown by Gilbert, three of which belonged to Bostrom. The Lancers took advantage of the turnover with a four-yard touchdown run by Skyler Hoffman for a 20-6 halftime lead.
