Traffic Lights

The Northridge earthquake in 1994 collapsed the Santa Monica Freeway at Fairfax, resulting in parallel surface streets such as Washington, Pico, Olympic, Jefferson, Adams and others taking on heavy freeway traffic. The timing of the traffic lights was changed to favor the east and west traffic, causing lengthy waits for north and south traffic on streets such as Crenshaw, Fairfax and Rimpau, to name a few. This condition still exists and is a real problem especially during rush hour.

I hope the traffic department realizes the freeway was repaired and reopened three years ago and will re-time traffic lights.
