A woman was robbed of jewelry and $3,800 Sunday morning in front of a bank as she tried to deposit cash receipts from her business, police said Monday.

The 47-year-old woman was not injured, said Lt. John Woods of the Garden Grove Police Department.

He said a man approached the woman at the Bank of America in the 9500 block of Chapman Avenue at 10:35 a.m. Sunday and stuck a semiautomatic handgun in her side. The man then grabbed the bracelet off her wrist, took her bank deposit bag, then pointed the weapon at several witnesses to keep them at bay.

The man fled in a dark brown Ford Fairmont with tinted windows and headed north on Gilbert Street, Woods said.
