Record vs. Surge--1-0

Update--The Surge lost Sunday at Virginia, 12-4, preventing a regular-season finale between unbeaten teams. The Surge’s other blemish was a 6-5 shootout loss to the visiting Bullfrogs on July 5. A shootout defeat is reflected in the standings as a tie. The league’s top-scoring defenseman, Jaime Cooke (24 goals, 51 assists) managed a single goal against Virginia. Bullfrog Mark Woolf, the No. 4 scorer in the league (19 goals, 48 assists), got a reprieve from reporting to his Scottish Ice Hockey team; he’s expected to be in uniform tonight. He will report overseas Friday, missing the MLRH playoffs, which begin Aug. 20 at the Pond.
