Motorcycle Officer Injured in Collision
A motorcycle officer was airlifted to a local hospital Tuesday after he collided with another vehicle on a residential street.
California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Nordella, 31, was riding south in the 300 block of South Euclid Street about 12:45 p.m. when he collided with a car coming out of a driveway, Officer Denise Medina said. Nordella was thrown from his bike into the car, Medina said.
He was flown to UCI Medical Center with moderate injuries. The driver of the car, who sustained only minor injuries, was taken to Whittier Hospital and Medical Center, Medina said.
